Frequently Asked Questions

How do you verify suppliers beyond checking export records?

We verify suppliers on multiple levels including company registration, factory license, GST and incorporation documents, on-ground factory visits at the time of quality inspections, talking to the founders.

What happens if the quality of samples is not good and we've already paid the supplier for it?

To avoid waste of time and cost, you can have all samples delivered to our address in India. In most cases, Indian factories provide samples free of charge for domestic delivery, unless the product is complex or high-value. We inspect and test each sample against your specifications before forwarding, ensuring only relevant and approved samples reach you.

What exactly constitutes a "product category" in your pricing structure?

A project is defined as a single product category or related SKUs sourced from one industry vertical. A product category refers to a distinct type of product from a specific industry vertical. For example, wooden furniture is one category, while textile home furnishings would be another. Related SKUs within the same manufacturing process (e.g., wooden chairs and tables) count as a single category, while products requiring different manufacturing expertise (e.g., wooden furniture and metal fixtures) are considered separate categories.

Do the physical quality inspections include lab testing?

No, if your products require specific compliance testing (such as FDA, CE, REACH, etc.), we can arrange third-party laboratory testing at actual cost, which varies by test type and complexity.

How do you handle IP protection when sharing my product specifications with suppliers?

Protecting sensitive product information and intellectual property of our client is the top priority for us. We sign strict NDAs with clients and also with shortlisted suppliers before any data is shared. Supplier vetting includes background checks to ensure reliability and legal accountability. Specifications are shared selectively on a need-to-know basis, never broadcasted, and always tracked.

What's your policy if we decide to order directly from a supplier after the initial project?

We understand that building direct relationships is part of a mature sourcing strategy. After a successful first order with our full involvement, you're welcome to work directly with suppliers. However, we offer a scaled-down "Relationship Maintenance" service that provides periodic physical quality inspection and relationship management at a fraction of cost, which many clients find valuable for maintaining quality standards.

Can supplier-side delays be escalated through your team?

In many instances, factories give an estimated time projection, hopefully with margin for all the potential unforeseen hindrances. This initial accounting may not always take into consideration how many other orders are in play, the actual capacity of the factory, a large variety of holidays and festivals that have the potential to add days or weeks to a delivery date. Suppliers are rarely intentionally over-promising, but there is a cultural bent toward optimism that can require fact checking in order to mitigate potential obstacles. But our on-the-ground presence means that we can follow up quickly and predict a lot of things that could go wrong and we try our best solve them proactively.
